This petition will help make the voices of
women who speak out against the war between Russia and Ukraine united and more visible,
heard, and meaningful.
Many say that our voices against blood, hatred and war are
quieter than calls for "decisive action" from various sides.
We know what wars
lead to and don’t want to stand aside. We demand from the UN Security Council to begin a
diplomatic negotiation process. And from our side, we are ready to do everything in our
power to influence the actions of the Security Council for a world without a new war.
TEXT OF THE PETITION
According to the Resolution 1325 (2000)
passed by the Security Council, we, the undersigned women who stand for peace and security,
who do not want wars and stand for the preservation of the lives of all citizens involved in
the military conflict, protecting the health of sons, daughters, mothers, diseases, fathers,
husbands, the elderly, and families, being aware of the essential practical role of women in
the establishment of peace and security, understanding that the civilian population,
especially women and children, form the vast majority among those negatively affected by
armed conflicts, including refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs),
We
demand from the members of the Security Council the following:
●
immediately start diplomatic peacekeeping processes to reduce military activity on the
borders of Russia and Ukraine;
● prevent crossing the red line, beyond
which there will be no step back to the peaceful negotiation
process;
● move from words to deeds and sit down at the negotiating
table.
All collected signatures will be sent to the UN
Security Council
